A New Year? Don’t Let Your Resolutions Fall By The Wayside!
Have you decided to step into the new Millenium but think that Social Networking is just a FAD? Think again!
They aren’t going to attend your party if you haven’t sent out the Invitations
If you’re a one man or woman band in your business, you hardly have time to return your clients calls, let alone think about social media. You are probably thinking you don’t have the time. but your business may not have the momentum to sustain its current trajectory.
If you built your reputation by word of mouth and print advertising, maybe social media isn’t your target audience. Or, it could be that it is!
If you’ve (or any other small business you know) has been bitten by the economy, it may be time to think again. Stock brokers tell us to diversify. Same is true for small business owners.
If there’s an area in your business thats continued to prosper throughout the last year, you know you’re making the right decisions BUT. Does that one product or service sustain your business? Have you got a suite of products or services that are languishing?
Time to look at the bigger picture. Find and meet your client base. Dont’ have time to do that research? Here are two suggestions for infusing this years book of business with fresh clients.
Make a Savvy Decision to Move Ahead
Become an expert in your niche and tell the world. there are a lot of different, easy options for sharing your expertise with many many people in just a few minutes a day.
It is truly mind boggling what an hour or so a week can net in ROI. Do the research yourself or have a virtual assistant do it for you.
A client of mine manufactures ski and snow board wax for a hobby. He doesn’t have time to locate shops which sell skis and supplies.
After some research, I gave him a list of ski shops in the area, made calls, set up appointments and provided the follow through.
I use an online project management program that helps me keep track of his hot leads, follow up on his contacts, create reports about his campaigns and keep him moving toward his goal (skiing, rather than his regular 9-5).
Enter A Great Strategy!
This is where the social networking came in. I suggested promoting his product by sponsoring a meetup for skiers in the NW. He was able to get exposure to his company and his hand crafted wax by attending and sponsoring a skiers meetup.
As our grandmothers used to say, for every pot there is a lid! It turned out to be a great opportunity for him; now he is well on his way to rebranding his wax and his growing business.
A little follow through on his New Years resolutions to move his handcrafted waxes into the spotlight has paid off.
And he’s keeping within his marketing budget by utilizing the expertise and experience of a local Virtual Assistant. Rather than hiring someone part time or outsourcing, he can accomplish all his goals by just implementing a few new systems. Plus, face to face meetings to restructure or tutor in the processes save time, energy and headaches.
The ski wax guy? He’s looking forward to winding up his year on top of a ski hill in St Moritz! Where will you be spending your time at the end of the year?
Too busy to ring your own bell? An investment in a V.A. can go a long way in helping your one-man band make beautiful music.
